Meet the Lindslys

When was the last time you went grocery shopping and the owner or one of his family rang up your purchases? Or bagged your groceries? Or carried your bags to your vehicle? Or gave you a tip on preparing your dinner?

Calvin and Rhonda Lindsly are hands-on owners. They're the first to greet you at the door and the last to see you out, after being assured that you have had a pleasurable shopping experience !

A second generation of Lindslys is also active in the business. Brandon and Kayln help out at the store and enjoy meeting and assisting customers.

This is a two-part video made in October 1996 right after Calvin Lindsly bought the store.

The first part from NBC Nightly News was narrated by anchorman Tom Brokaw and is entitled The American Dream: Former Bagger Calvin Lindsly Becomes Owner of Food Store.

The second part of the video is a portion of local CBS affiliate WAFB's newscast with a story on the making of the NBC report a few days earlier.
